Blandford began the sport in 2011 after his friends suggested he try it.  He previously played football (running back) and ran track (sprinting, jumping and throwing events) for Centre College in Danville, Ky.  Blandford earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Centre College and is currently pursuing his Masters in Education through the University of the Cumberlands.
 
Blandford's hobbies include CrossFit, rock climbing and training other athletes.  His favorite books are The Alchemist, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and The Giving Tree.
