Becoming a world-class snowboarder has been a dream and goal for Lindsay Lloyd, so she started attending summer camps in Mt. Hood and Chile. At the end of a 2006 summer camp at Mt. Hood, U.S. Snowboarding saw the potential and she joined the team the next season.
Following some landmark successes in the Europa Cups, Lloyd was determined to be a full-time World Cup competitor, but an unexpected injury sidelined her. After recuperating and building back her strength alongside fellow athletes at USSA's training center, Lloyd got back into competition in 2009, finished second in the season's first Race to the Cup in the 2010 season and plans to live out her Olympic dreams.
"My parents owned a ski and snowboard shop, and snowboarding looked fun so I thought I would give it a shot." She then saw the 2002 Olympic Winter Games from the front row and was hooked.
