Membership Manager

Job Description

Reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director

  1. Oversee day-to-day operation of the Membership Department
  2. Update and carry out Annual Membership Business Plan
  3. Bring forth thoughts and ideas for business development and membership growth, which includes membership retention analysis and developing plan to retain members
  4. Identify membership growth opportunities for implementation
  5. Strategizes membership programs to increase/enhance member benefits
  6. Tracks, compiles, maintains information for membership/financial reporting
  7. Prepare annual department budget
  8. Directly supervises Membership Staff in conjunction with the Assistant Executive Director
  9. Assigns and oversees Membership Staff projects
  10. Monitors and evaluates the work of Membership Staff
  11. Maintains the membership database and reporting
  12. Create and manage project list for online membership system developers
  13. Publish and educate membership on new online features and capabilities
  14. Act as direct liaison with Local Boxing Committee (LBC) leadership
  15. Assists membership with online registration and other department related inquiries
  16. Conceives and carries out LBC Award Programs
  17. Plans and prepares USA Boxing Annual Meeting
  18. Oversee Annual Physician’s Symposium
  19. Writes, edits and distributes monthly LBC e-newsletter; highlight local accomplishments and best practices, clarifies/answers questions from LBC leadership/members
  20. Works with organization insurance broker to track claims and develop risk management strategies
  21. Processes and Maintains International Club Exchange Program Documents
  22. Secures Travel insurance for club exchange events
  23. Maintains professional technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  24. Other duties as assigned


  • Four years of office administrative, supervisory or lead experience, preferably sports administration, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
  • A good knowledge of member relationship management skills and techniques
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong and advanced written and oral communicational skills
  • Familiar with using word processing, databases, spreadsheets, presentation software
