Anchorage Hosts World Junior/Youth Biathlon Team Trials

Three days of intense racing action will start with a sprint on December 28, followed by a pursuit format on December 29. The final day of competition, December 30, will be a relay format (individual) race. These races will determine junior (ages 19-21) and youth (under 19) team members. As many as 16 biathletes will earn a spot to represent the US at the World Junior Biathlon Championships in Canmore, Alberta, Canada January 28—February 3, 2008.
The World Junior/Youth Biathlon Trials are the first of four major events set for Anchorage this winter. Also on tap are the Conoco Phillips U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships (Jan. 3-8), U.S. National Masters (March 5-8) and USSA J2 Junior Olympic Ski Jumping Championships (March 3-7).
All races start at 12 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
