Mar 03 Fast Ice Continues at American Cup Final/Champions Challenge in Salt Lake City

KEARNS, UT (March 3, 2012) - The American Cup Final/ Champions Challenge continued at Utah Olympic Oval today with competition in the ladies 1000m, 3000m and the men’s 1500m and 5000m distances.

Posting a personal-best time of 1:17.17, Sugar Todd (Union, NE) finished first in the 1000m Ladies. Second place went to Rebekah Bradford (Apple Valley, NM) with 1:19.44 and the third place went to Leah Lambert (Delafield, WI) with 1:21.65.

Joey Mantia (West Jordan, UT) won the 1500m Men’s distance with personal-best time of 1:59.85, followed by Nico Dorsch (Germany) posting a personal-best time of 1:49.84, and Felix Rijhnen (Germany) who also post a personal-best time with 1:50.31.

Finishing with a time of 4:26.18, Lisa Hambly (White Bear Lake, MN) took the top spot for the Ladies 3000m. Rebekah Dyrud (Plymouth, MN) took the second place with 4:28.12 and Briana Kramer (Orlando, FL) finished third with 4:31.12.

Each of the podium finishers posted personal-best times in the Men’s 3000m distances, Edwin Park (Federal Way, WA) finished first with a time of 4:13.24 ahead of Connor Theisen (Shoreview, MN) in second with 4:13.25 and Andrew Turner (St. Paul, MN) in third with 4:16.17.

In the 5000m, Nico Dorsch (Germany) finished first with season-best time of 6:43.94, followed by Alex Hopp (West Jordan, UT) with 6:44.99 and Reyon Kay (New Zealand) with a personal-best time of 6:45.20.
