COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The USA Women’s National Field Hockey Team has been selected for the upcoming four Nations tour in Mendoza, Argentina, February 9-13 and Rosario, Argentina, February 16-20.
The following athletes have been selected to the traveling team: Torrie Albini (Escondido, CA), Kayla Bashore (Shoemakersville, Pa), Lauren Crandall (Doylestown, Pa), Rachel Dawson (Berlin, NJ), Katie Evans (Newtown Square, Pa), Maren Ford (Ann Arbor, MI), Melissa Gonzalez (Cortland, NY), Michelle Kasold (Chapel Hill, NC), Jackie Kintzer (Chapel Hill, NC), Claire Laubach (Bristow, VA), Caroline Nichols (Virginia Beach, VA), Katie O'Donnell (Blue Bell, Pa), Lauren Pffeifer (Iowa City, IA), Paige Selenski (Charlottesville, Pa), Keli Smith (Selinsgrove, Pa), Pam Speuhler (Sudbury, MA), Shannon Taylor (San Diego, CA), Michelle Vittese (Charlottesville, VA).
“We will take a big step in playing in a tournament against the worlds #1, #3 and #5 teams in Argentina next month. This series will assist enormously in the development of the team throughout the year and ultimately for the Pan American Games,” said Lee Bodimeade, Head Coach of the Women’s National Team.
USA will compete in a total of eight matches in Argentina against three other top ranked teams in the World: #1 Argentina, #3 Germany and #5 Australia. The schedule for the four game series in Mendoza, Argentina is as follows with all times listed in local ART and EST in parentheses.
