Nina Cutro-Kelly today won four matches in her senior division to take the second gold medal for a team of U.S. athletes at a tournament in Lanester, France this weekend.

Cutro-Kelly, 78+ kg, hails from Universal Judo in San Antonio, TX. The team was led by Jim Hrbek, head coach of Universal and USA Judo's chairman of the Junior Athlete Performance Committee.

Taking silver today in Lanester was Chantal Wright who went 3-1 for the day in the 63 kg division. That brought the totals to two gold, two silver, two bronze and a fifth place for the weekend.

Placing yesterday in Lanester were:

Kyle Wright, who won all four of his matches by ippon to take the top spot on the podium in the 73 kg division in the cadet age group. He also won a Best Technique Award for the two-day tournament.

Taking silver was Caleb Andreu, (Bushido Judo School, N.C.). Leon Simakhov, 34 kg (Georgian Wrestling School, Brooklyn, NY) and Madison Montgomery, 57 kg (Ruben Martin Judo Training Center, Burleson, TX) each went 3-1 to take bronze medals.

Cadet Rachael Butler, 63 kg (Tri-Valley Judo, Pleasanton, CA) placed fifth in her division with a 3-2 record for the day.
