The 2010 Junior World Championships for Modern Pentathlon began Thursday in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, with the women's qualification round. The men's qualification will be held on Friday and the finals for the women's and men's divisions will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

 

Competing for the United States are Emily Andrews (Absecon, N.J.) in the women's competition, and John Gibbons (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Hans Lauzen (Aurora, Ill.) and Lucas Schrimsher (Roswell, N.M.) in the men's competition.
