Pamela Lennen aka Buns of Fury of the San Diego Roller Derby Starlettes is the February Roller Derby Spotlight athlete. The Starlettes recently played at the first USARS Championship Tournament in Fresno, California. The SDRD Starlettes put up a great fight on all three days of the tournament. Buns of Fury received an awful blow to her left ankle from a referee on the first day of the tournament. Her injury did not stop her from being a complete threat on the track. She was an excellent blocker and jammer for her team. Buns of Fury plays many roles for the league – she is a player, a helper, a teacher and a fighter. She intimidates many new skaters, but she welcomes them to the league with a warm smile. She is happy to give pointers to her teammates during practice and right before a bout. Don’t let her kind personality or pretty face fool you because her “buns” will knock you on your butt if you’re playing against her.
