Shively and Lowe Selected For Synchro Hall of Fame
INDIANAPOLIS - Denise Shively, USA Synchro’s Vice
President/Competitive Operations, and Olympic bronze medalist Sara Lowe have been selected to be
inducted into the United States Synchronized Swimming Hall of Fame.
who will be inducted as a Contributor, has been USA Synchro’s National/Olympic Team manager since 2003 and has
served as the technical chair and officials’ chair for the Ohio Association and
the North Zone. She is a Level 4 national judge and has served on several
national committees, including event management and championship sites.
Shively, the head coach of the Columbus Coralinas, is a faculty member at
Otterbein University in the Department of Communications.

Lowe, who won bronze as a member of the U.S. team
at the 2004 Olympics, will be inducted as an Athlete. She was an
All-American from 2000 to 2005 as a four-time member of the U.S. National Team
and three-time member of the U.S. Junior National Team. Lowe also was a member
of the 2003 Pan-American Team, winning the gold medal. She earned individual High Point honors at U.S. Nationals by winning figures, solo,
duet and team, and she also was a bronze medalist at Junior Worlds.
Lowe was a member of Cardinal teams that won four consecutive Collegiate
National Championships, serving as captain for three years. She earned the
title of Collegiate High Point Athlete each of her four years competing for the
Cardinal, and combined with her teammates to win more than 20 national titles. Lowe
won college titles in solo, duet, team and elements.
“This honor is one that Sara so richly deserves, as her
athletic achievements are many, culminating of course with a bronze medal at
the Olympic Games in 2004. USA Synchro is proud to be inducting Sara into our
Hall of Fame,” McGowan said.
The induction will take place at the opening session of the
Board of Governors and Board of Directors, Sept. 13, in Anaheim, Calif.
