"2004 US table tennis Olympian, Whitney Ping, will
serve at the London Olympic Games as one of two Athlete Service Coordinators
for the 2012 US Olympic Team. Athlete Service Coordinators are former Olympians
and/or Paralympians selected by the USOC Athlete's Advisory Council with the
purpose of serving as an athlete resource and providing support to all US Team
Athletes during the Olympic Games."
Whitney, on her selection as an ASC: "I feel incredibly
honored and humbled to be selected for this important role by the Athlete's
Advisory Council. My primary goal during the Olympic Games will be to ensure
that all of our competing US athletes have the support they need to put forth
their best performance while having a wonderful Olympic experience. To play a
role in that is something that means a lot to me, and I am very much looking
forward to the next few weeks in London."
