The U.S. beach volleyball team of Matt Fuerbringer and Casey Jennings defeated Brazil’s Marcio Araujo and Fabio Magalhaes on Sunday to win the bronze medal at the SWATCH FIVB World Tour event in Zagreb, Croatia.

Fuerbringer (Costa Mesa, Calif.) and Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.), seeded 15th, claimed their first-ever SWATCH FIVB World Tour podium berth by posting a 21-19 and 21-17 victory in 46 minutes over 11th-ranked Marcio Araujo and Fabio. Fuerbringer and Jennings shared $14,000 for third place.

In the gold-medal match, Reindeer Nummerdor and Richard Schuil of the Netherlands won their second SWATCH FIVB World Tour title by defeating Penggen  Wu and Linyin Xu.
