COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 30, 2011) – USA Volleyball has announced the coaches that will work with athletes at its three beach volleyball holiday high performance camps in December.

It has also released the lists of players who have been invited to the camps. This year, athletes from 14 states are scheduled to attend. To view the full list, click here.

"The demand for spots at these camps has been overwhelming," said Ali Wood Lamberson, USAV director of beach programs. "We opened up the Chula Vista camps to the most day campers we could manage, and we still we have a long waiting list. This reflects the growing popularity of beach volleyball among junior players.

"I think the future of the sport looks very bright."

Junior beach players are invited to high performance camps based on the results of high performance tryouts.

“This is the best coaching staff we have ever put together for our Beach HP program,” Lamberson added. “I am delighted with the eagerness and enthusiasm that each of these coaches brings to our program together with their years of elite level experience.  Our Beach HP athletes are going to have a very challenging and rewarding experience.”

The first camp will be the Boys’ A1 Beach Holiday High Performance Camp on Dec. 20-23 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Chula Vista, Calif.
