COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Nov. 28, 2012) – The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has appointed four individuals from the United States to serve on its commissions for the coming year.

Pat Powers was appointed to serve on the Rules of the Game Commission, while Doug Wilson will serve on the Refereeing Commission. Sinjin Smith and Peter Diamond return to the Beach Volleyball and Television and New Media Commissions, respectively.

Hugh McCutcheon, who is from New Zealand but coached the U.S. Olympic Men’s Volleyball Team to gold in 2008 and the U.S. Olympic Women’s Volleyball Team to silver in 2012, was appointed to the Coaching Commission.

The new commission members were confirmed following nominations by respective federations, which were received by the FIVB in time for the FIVB World Congress held Sept. 19-21 in Anaheim, Calif.
