Current HP Coaches
Thank you for your commitment to USA Volleyball High Performance. It is the hard work and professionalism of the coaches who work with our athletes that makes USAV HP so successful in achieving our goal of identifying and training the top volleyball players in the country to become the Olympians of tomorrow.
Regardless of whether this is your second year with USAV HP or if you have been involved for many years, please review the following and complete all steps for the 2013 season to ensure that you are afforded every opportunity.
USAV High Performance is continually updating the HP Coaches’ Pipeline database to reflect the most current contact and employment information for all of our coaches. We ask that coaches update their Coaches’ Application annually to ensure that the HP office is able to contact you for tryout and program scheduling. If you cannot log in, please send an e-mail to indoorhp@usav.org for your user name and password.
2. Complete the Girls' USAV HP Tryout Availability Form or Boys' USAV HP Tryout Availability Form
Review the 2013 USAV HP tryout schedule (Girls' or Boys') and determine which tryouts you are able to attend. Completing the form above will notify USAV HP of the fact that you will be attending the tryouts that you specify. Once you submit the form, it will be immediately received by the HP Office. You will receive notification in the weeks and days before each tryout with additional information and your assignment for the tryout. If you need to make adjustments to your availability, simply submit a new form – USAV will only look at the most recent version.
3. Volunteer at 2013 USAV HP tryouts.
We ask that all USAV HP Coaches attend at least one tryout per year, although many attend multiple tryouts (and some attend as many as 5 or 6!). Working a minimum of one tryout is required for placement as a coach in a program that summer. Tryouts are typically before or after a National Qualifier or other large tournament, so HP coaches simply adjust their travel schedule to arrive a little early or stay a little longer so they can attend a tryout. Coaches who work tryouts should be VERY familiar with the 2013 HP Tryout Plan and Physical Testing Procedures.
4. Complete the 2013 USAV HP Summer Program Availability Form (click the link to complete the form).
Review the 2013 USAV HP Program schedule and determine which programs you are able to work in the summer of 2013. Completing the form above will notify USAV simply of your availability for the summer. The USAV HP office will assign coaches to programs based on a number of factors.
2013 HP Coaching Invitation Timeline
January 1, 2013 – National Team Coaches and HP Championship and Program Head Coaches Named
February 1, 2013 – May 1, 2013 – Initial Girls’ Program Associate Head and Assistant Coaches Invited (Returning, active HP coaches)

USAV HP is committed to providing the athletes the best coaching experience possible while working to allow new coaches the opportunity to get involved.
5. Contact your USA Volleyball Region and find out about working with Region High Performance.
Many regions of USA Volleyball sponsor Region High Performance programs, including development camps and High Performance teams that attend USA Volleyball’s High Performance Championships each summer. Working with your local region is a great way to get involved, gain HP experience, and provide many of the top players in your region with the highest level coaching available. Please click here to see if your region sponsors an HP program and for contact information for that program.
6. Attend the USA Volleyball High Performance Coaches’ Clinic in February.
The annual High Performance Coaches’ Clinic is the ultimate opportunity to “jump head first” into the world of coaching with High Performance. The HP Coaches’ Clinic gives coaches the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best coaches as they discuss and explain High Performance and National Team techniques, systems, and training. Past headliners have included our current and former National Team coaches, NCAA National Championship coaches, Junior and Youth National Team coaches, and some of the leaders of our USAV High Performance Coaches Pipeline. In addition, the Coaches’ Clinic allows coaches the opportunity to network and “talk shop” with the clinic presenters and attendees, most of whom are other High Performance coaches. Click here for more information about the 2013 HP Coaches’ Clinic.
7. Begin or continue USA Volleyball's Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP).
USAV High Performance supports continuing coaching education for coaches of all levels and years of experience. Invitation preference for HP Programs is given to coaches who have acheived and maintain CAP certification and those who continue to progress through each level of CAP. Many of our USAV HP Coaches are also CAP Cadre, helping to teach CAP courses across the country. Please click here for more information about CAP certification.
