WARSAW, Poland -- Andy Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) placed fifth at 74 kg/163 lbs., the top U.S. performance at the Pytlasinski Memorial International, a major tune-up event prior to the World Championships.

Bisek, the 2013 U.S. World Team member, opened with three impressive victories to advance to the semifinals. All three were technical fall wins, over Christoffer Nilsson of Sweden, 9-0, Laszlo Szabo of Hungary, 11-4 and Jacek Tomaszewski of Poland, 9-2.

In the semifinals, he dropped a 1-5 match to Robert Rosengren of Sweden, 1-5. In his bronze-medal bout, Bisek lost to Ruszan Isakov of Russia, 1-5.

"Bisek lost tough match against Sweden. He's been ill all night and day with fever. He's a true warrior," said National Greco-Roman coach Steve Fraser.

Three other U.S. World Team members saw action on Sunday. Two-time World medalist Justin Lester (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) moved up a weight to 74 kg/163 lbs. and finished with a 2-2 record.

World Team member Jesse Thielke (Germantown, Wis./New York AC/Badger WC) went 1-2 at 60 kg/132 lbs. World Team member Caylor Williams (Greensboro, N.C./U.S. Army WCAP) dropped his only bout at 96 kg/211.5 lbs.
